bhopal-engineer-returns-from-dubai,-says-situation-under-control:missile-noise-caused-fear;-hike-in-flight-prices-and-cancellations-complicated-return

An engineer from Bhopal who returned from Dubai on Friday has stated about the situation in Dubai amidst the US-Israel Iran War stating that currently the situation is under control in the region and provisions are made to get stranded people out from the country. The man identified as Mohammed Sami Khan has been working in Dubai for the past two years as an MVP design engineer. He said, “Despite the widespread concerns outside, daily life for ordinary people in Dubai is not heavily affected. Offices, malls, and restaurants are functioning normally, though some places have been temporarily closed for security reasons”. The sound of missiles caused fear Sami further added, “Many times he could hear sounds like missiles passing by or explosions from far away. At such times, people would definitely feel some panic. However, the UAE government immediately sent mobile notifications advising people to stay indoors and also issued a safety message once the situation returns to normal”. Returning became difficult due to flight cancellations Sharing his experience of returning to India, Sami said, “The biggest problem was with flights. Getting tickets was difficult and flights that were available would often get cancelled or rescheduled”. He added, “The flight timing kept changing repeatedly, but finally he got a ticket and was able to reach Bhopal”. Ticket prices increased up to three times He explained, “Due to this situation, airfare prices have also increased significantly. Flights that normally cost around 900 to 1100 dirhams, were now available for about 3000 dirhams. Meanwhile, chartered flight fares have also reached two and a half to three lakh rupees in Indian currency. No need to panic, government is helping For people stranded in Dubai, Sami said “There’s no need to panic”. According to him, “Both Indian and UAE governments are helping people. Accommodation arrangements are also being made at several places, so people should remain patient and plan their travel only based on correct information”. Caution necessary in flight booking He advised, “People should be careful while booking flights. If possible, get information directly from the airline company or through an agent, because sometimes flights are not cancelled but their timings are changed. Getting correct updates can help avoid unnecessary panic”. Had to return early due to wedding Sami said “One major reason for his return to India was his wedding, which is scheduled to happen in about hundred days. Preparations were already underway at home and the family was also worried whether he would be able to return on time. For this reason, he kept trying continuously for flights and returned to India as soon as he got a ticket”. Family’s concern increased anxiety He added “Both his brothers live in Dubai, so the family was worried about their safety. Especially parents were troubled by the fact that both sons are abroad together. For this reason, there was also pressure to return home early”. After reaching Bhopal, Sami said, “He is planning to return to Dubai after marriage. He says that the situation there is not completely abnormal and work is continuing as usual”.
