2 municipal corporation employees died in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh on Monday evening while descending into a tank during sewer cleaning. It is being reported that they died due to suffocation from poisonous gas. The incident occurred near the Choithram Mandi Gate. According to information, municipal corporation employees had come to the zone-13 area for sewer cleaning. The incident is reported to have occurred around 6:30 PM. It is being said that the duty of local employees was until 5 PM. Three employees were present at the scene at that time. Both suffocated due to poisonous gas During sewer cleaning, when the suction tanker’s pipe was being removed, a part of the pipe fell inside the sewer tank. Ajay and Karan descended into the tank to retrieve that piece. It is suspected that both suffocated due to poisonous gas that had already accumulated in the tank. 2 people who went down to rescue were safely retrieved During the incident, another sanitation worker and a local citizen had also descended into the tank in an attempt to rescue both of them. However, they were pulled out in time and are safe. The surviving worker’s name is Akbar. Declared dead in the hospital Colleagues took Ajay and Karan out and brought them to the hospital, where doctors declared both dead after examination. The exact cause of death will be clear after the post-mortem report. However, at the preliminary level, death by suffocation from toxic gas is suspected.
