The discovery of a young man’s body on Friday evening in the Nagod police station area of Satna district sparked panic in the locality. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Anil Patel, a resident of Goriya village in Maihar district. According to family members, Anil had left home on 24 February carrying his sister’s jewellery and cash. A theft complaint had been registered against him at the Amdara police station, and authorities were searching for him. Around 6 pm on Friday, villagers discovered a bloodied body near a canal in the forest about one kilometre from Dudha village. On receiving information, Nagod police reached the scene and began an investigation. Anil’s Aadhaar card was recovered from his pocket, confirming his identity. Investigations indicate that Anil’s head was crushed with a stone, and multiple severe injuries were observed on his body. At the scene, authorities recovered his motorbike, an alcohol bottle, a chillum containing cannabis, and other items. Forensic teams, dog squads, and cyber cell personnel continued their investigation late into the night. The motive for the murder has yet to be established, and family members are being questioned.
