Panic breaks out in Indore’s Raoji Bazar police station area on Thursday night after a poisonous gas leak spread in the locality. People begin experiencing breathlessness and vomiting due to the fumes, and five individuals are rushed to the hospital after their health deteriorates. Residents, passersby, and even police personnel at the spot cover their mouths and noses with handkerchiefs as a precaution. Many step out of their homes, trying to understand the situation. Administrative officials reach the scene, water tankers are called in, and efforts are made to control the situation. Authorities say the situation is currently under watch. Gas leak triggers panic at scrap shop The gas leak reportedly occurs at a scrap dealer’s shop, where a gas-filled cylinder is brought in. While the scrap dealer is cutting the cylinder, gas begins leaking and quickly spreads, causing panic and breathing difficulties in the surrounding area. Police and fire brigade take control Police reach the spot upon receiving information and take the scrap dealer into custody. The fire brigade team seizes the cylinder and removes it from the site. Water sprinkling is carried out in the area, after which the situation comes partially under control.
