The son of Muhasa Sarpanch in Shivpuri was murdered on Sunday morning. Sarpanch Rajendra Singh Yadav’s son, Yudhishthir Yadav, was attacked with a sword and an axe and died on the spot. Several other family members were also seriously injured in the assault. Preliminary investigation suggests that an old rivalry over government land belonging to the Gram Panchayat may be the main reason behind the attack, though this has not been officially confirmed. A relative of the deceased, Shivpal Yadav, said that government land was required for a proposed electricity power house in the Gram Panchayat, which could have triggered the dispute. Dispute over govt land turns fatal It is alleged that Sarpanch Rajendra Singh Yadav had formally recommended that the government land occupied by Captain Yadav be freed for the construction of the proposed power house. Following this, Captain Yadav and his sons reportedly developed animosity toward the Sarpanch’s family. This hostility allegedly surfaced during the violent dispute that took place on Sunday.
