Over the past three days, the state has seen rainfall, thunderstorms, and even hail in some areas. More than 20 districts, including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Shajapur, and Sagar, have received rainfall in the last 24 hours. Strong winds have damaged wheat crops in Ratlam, Shajapur, and Ujjain, causing concern for farmers. Authorities have started crop surveys, with revenue officials assessing the affected areas. In total, around 25 districts are expected to face crop damage due to storms over the last three days. Districts likely to receive rain today The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts rainfall in Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, and Mauganj. Other cities including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur may experience cloudy skies. New Weather System from 23-24 February A western disturbance affecting the western Himalayan region on 22 February is expected to influence Madhya Pradesh from 23 February onward. This will be the fourth spell of rainfall in Madhya Pradesh this month. Earlier in February, storms and rain occurred twice, causing significant crop damage, and authorities conducted surveys in the affected areas. Temperature trends Due to the recent rainfall, daytime temperatures have dropped, though nights have been slightly warmer. In Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, night temperatures have stayed above 14°C, while other cities recorded over 12°C. Residents are advised to stay alert as thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds may continue over the next few days, particularly in southeastern districts.
