A 30-year-old man died by suicide in Bhopal’s Nishatpura area on Wednesday night. Before taking the step, he recorded a video blaming his wife and her friend for his death and demanding action against them, police said. The deceased, identified as Pankaj Ahirwar, son of Kunjilal Ahirwar, lived in Ratan Colony and worked as a gas cylinder delivery worker with a private company. According to police, the incident took place around 10 p.m. on Wednesday when Pankaj allegedly hanged himself at his residence. His family members rushed him to hospital, but he was declared dead. After the post-mortem examination at Hamidia Hospital, the body was handed over to the family on Thursday afternoon. Video alleges harassment by wife and her friend Police said the deceased recorded a video before his death in which he accused his wife Sandhya and her friend, identified as Vikas Palkar, of forcing him to take the extreme step. In the video, Pankaj alleged that his wife had left him and was living with Vikas in Khurai. He claimed that despite repeated requests, she refused to return and allegedly threatened to implicate him in false cases. He also stated that he was under mental stress after his wife filed a complaint against him at Gandhi Nagar police station. According to him, he had been repeatedly called to the police station, which caused him distress. Family alleges ongoing disputes Pankaj’s younger brother, Gagan Ahirwar, alleged that Sandhya frequently spoke with Vikas for long hours over the phone, leading to disputes between the couple. He said Sandhya had recently left Pankaj and began living separately. The family members claimed that Pankaj was depressed due to these developments and had mentioned the issues in his final video. They said they have handed over the video and other evidence to the police and demanded action. Police begin investigation Police officials said they have registered a case and started an investigation. They added that the allegations made in the video and statements of family members are being examined. “We have received the video and statements from the family. Action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation,” a police officer said.
