Lawyer shot dead in Shivpuri while heading to court:Family claims murder tied to land dispute

A lawyer was shot dead in the Karera area of Shivpuri district, on Saturday. The incident occurred near Anand Sagar Temple on Siddhan Road behind the fort while he was on his way to court. Unknown assailants fired at advocate Sanjay Kumar Saxena, killing him on the spot. Sanjay Kumar Saxena, a resident of Ghiryali Mohalla in the old market area, was riding his bike to court as usual. On a deserted stretch, unknown attackers lying in wait ambushed him. It is not yet known whether the assailants arrived on a vehicle or on foot. A short while later, another lawyer passing by saw Sanjay Saxena lying on the road. He was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Karera police reached the spot as soon as they were informed. Police inspected the scene and sent the body for post-mortem. They are conducting searches in surrounding areas and trying to identify suspects. Preliminary investigation suggests the attack was premeditated.
