A woman employee of the Mining Department is held hostage and robbed inside her own house in TT Nagar, Bhopal. The accused is the son of her domestic help, who carries out the crime along with his minor cousin. The accused holds the woman captive at knife point and commits the robbery. The miscreants flee with ₹1.68 lakh in cash, an Apple iPhone and other valuables, taking the total value of stolen property to around ₹3.25 lakh. The incident takes place on Saturday evening. Police register an FIR early Sunday morning. The main accused and the juvenile accomplice are arrested, and the stolen cash and items are recovered. The accused was released from jail in attempted murder case According to TI Gaurav Singh, the victim Archana Verma (28) lives at Quarter No. 98 in TT Nagar. She works as an Assistant Grade-3 in the Mining Department. Her father is employed as a security guard, while her mother has passed away due to illness. Archana has hired a maid for housekeeping work. The maid’s son, Ashish alias Goli Raikwar, is the main accused. He is recently released from jail in a case of attempt to murder. As soon as the gate opened, both pushed their way inside Ashish also does small household jobs at Archana’s home and has been visiting the house earlier. He is familiar with the house and its routine. Along with his 15-year-old cousin, he plans the robbery in advance. The accused knows the timings of the victim’s father going to and returning from work. On the day of the incident, both reach the house on the pretext of work. They knock on the gate, and as soon as it is opened, they push their way inside. At knife point, they threaten the woman and ask her about the valuables kept in the house. Within about 15 minutes, the accused loot cash, mobile phones and other items and flee from the spot. Accused said – Phone calls were coming for loan recovery During interrogation, the accused tells police that he commits the robbery due to pressure from loan recovery calls related to a group loan. He says he plans to use the remaining money to fulfil his personal desires and buy a new bike. After receiving information about the incident, police conduct a search operation and arrest the accused and his juvenile accomplice.
