Gautam Adani has reclaimed the top spot in Forbes’ 2026 list of India’s 100 richest people after three years. The total wealth of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and his family is estimated at ₹10.85 lakh crore ($112.7 billion). His wealth has increased by ₹1.99 lakh crore ($20.7 billion) compared with last year. In dollar terms, he was also the businessperson whose wealth increased the most on the list this year. However, his wealth is still below its 2022 peak of ₹14.43 lakh crore ($150 billion). Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani slipped to second place. His wealth fell by ₹1.80 lakh crore to ₹8.3 lakh crore. According to Forbes, pressure on margins across various businesses has affected Reliance’s shares. Four new names, Anil Agarwal returns Four new names were included in this year’s list. They are Krishna Chivukula of Indo-MIM, Kushal and Chaitanya Desai of Apar Industries, Aditya Khemka of Aditya Infotech ,and the Virani brothers of Balaji Wafers. Kushal and Chaitanya have assets worth ₹40,898 crore, while Aditya Khemka’s family wealth stands at ₹34,643 crore. This year, the rupee fell 8.5% and the stock market declined 9.5%. Even so, the combined wealth of the 100 richest people remained at around ₹96.23 lakh crore. Adani’s share of this is around 11.3%, while Ambani’s is around 8.6%.
