In a significant order, the Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has specifically directed that the Dean of MGM Medical College Dr Arvind Ghanghoria, and Pathology faculty member Dr Shikha Ghanghoria shall not interfere in the conduct of MD practical examinations. The order was passed by Justice Pranay Verma in Writ Petition No. 929 of 2026 filed by Dr Shashikant and others on February 2. Petition challenged fresh examiner panel The petitioners had challenged the constitution of a fresh panel of examiners for practical and viva voce examinations, alleging that it was formed without following the prescribed procedure of Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University. They also sought directions to ensure fair and transparent conduct of the examinations and to restrain the Dean and Dr Shikha Ghanghoria from interfering in the process. Earlier, on January 9, the High Court had stayed the practical examinations scheduled from January 10. University directed to act promptly During the hearing, counsel for the petitioners informed the court that the required formalities had been completed by the college and the matter forwarded to the university for approval. The university’s counsel submitted that its role was limited and assured prompt action on the proposal. Court orders non-interference, disposes petition Petitioners’ counsel Bhuvan Gautam told the media, The court directed the university to take due action by the next day and clarified that once approved, the examinations shall be conducted as per schedule. Importantly, the court expressly observed that the concerned respondents, including the Dean of MGM Medical College Dr Arvind Ghanghoria and Dr Shikha Ghanghoria, would be well advised not to interfere in the conduct of the examinations. With these directions, the petition was disposed of.
