A 36-year-old man died by suicide after hanging himself at his in-laws’ house in Bhopal’s Govindpura area. The incident took place on Tuesday night. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Manoj Baheliya, son of Arun Baheliya. He was originally from Lucknow and had been living with his wife and in-laws in Govindpura for the past one year due to his job in the industrial area, where he worked as a factory labourer. On Tuesday night at around 10 pm, Manoj’s mother-in-law went to call him for dinner. The room was locked from inside. Despite repeated calls, there was no response. She then informed her husband. The father-in-law, with the help of neighbours, broke open the door and found Manoj hanging inside the room. The body was immediately brought down, and police were informed. Police reached the spot, carried out panchnama proceedings and took the body into custody. A case has been registered, and investigation is underway. No suicide note was found at the scene, and the exact reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained. Manoj’s wife was in Lucknow at the time of the incident. During preliminary questioning, police were told by the in-laws that Manoj had been facing financial difficulties. Police said all angles are being examined in the case.
