A 20-year-old man, Arun Rajak, son of Ramjilal Rajak, reportedly died by suicide on Friday evening outside his girlfriend’s home in Radha Colony, Guna, after learning that she was being married to someone else. Arun consumed poison outside the residence and called his friend Bhola for help. Bhola rushed to the scene and took him to the district hospital, but despite medical intervention, Arun succumbed to the poison. Affair of three years According to reports, Arun had been in a relationship with the girl for the past three years. However, her family arranged her marriage elsewhere. The girl had informed Arun about the decision, leaving him devastated. Final conversation before extreme step On Friday morning, Arun went to work as usual. Around midday, he spoke with his girlfriend over the phone for about 15–20 minutes. During the conversation, the girl informed him that her family would not approve of a marriage between them. After learning this, Arun went to her house and ingested sulphur-based poison. Friend attempts rescue After consuming the poison, Arun called his friend Bhola to inform him about the incident. Bhola rushed to the location and found Arun lying outside. He immediately took him to the hospital, where Arun succumbed to the poison. Bhola informed Arun’s family, who rushed to the hospital in distress. Family details and Previous threats Arun had told his maternal uncle, Karan Rajak, over the phone that he was going to meet the girl at her house. It remains unclear what transpired during this meeting. Arun’s family alleged that the girl’s parents and her three brothers had been mentally harassing him and had previously threatened him to stay away from the girl. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
