A tragic road accident occurred in Gwalior on Friday morning amid dense fog. A speeding truck rammed into a WagonR car near Bantu Dhaba on the Bhind Road highway. The crash was so severe that four people in the car died on the spot. The deceased include two women and two men, all residents of Bhind district. Around 8 am, as their car reached near Bantu Dhaba, a fast-moving truck hit it from behind and crushed it. According to police, the victims have been identified as Saurabh Sharma of Mehgaon (Bhind), Jyoti Yadav (Bhind), Bhure Prajapati of Gormi (Bhind), and Uma Rathore, wife of Ram Rathore, a resident of Moroli (Bhind). Saurabh had returned from Agra after appearing for his BSc Agriculture exam. He was heading to appear for a polytechnic exam this morning. The car belonged to his brother. While travelling towards Gwalior, he had picked up some passengers on the way, who also died in the accident. Jyoti’s sister Neelam Yadav said they received information in the morning about an accident in Malanpur. Jyoti was travelling to Mathura and had started her journey from Gormi. She has two children and had left home alone. Saurabh’s brother Ankit said Saurabh left home around 6 am. He was 24 years old. The family includes two brothers and one sister. On Friday morning, visibility in Gwalior ranged between 200 and 500 metres due to fog. Truck crashes into bushes after impact After hitting the car, the truck lost control and veered into bushes on the right side of the road. Police reached the spot soon after being informed and began rescue operations. All four bodies were removed from the car and sent for post-mortem. Truck driver absconds Initial investigation suggests dense fog and over-speeding as the main causes of the accident. Police are searching for the truck driver, who fled from the scene. Traffic was briefly affected in the area following the incident. The truck’s registration number is MP 07 HB 2801, while the car’s number is MP 07 ZF 5193.
