An FIR for rape is registered against Youth Congress state secretary Rishabh Mishra. The case is lodged at Lordganj police station in Jabalpur against Rishabh Mishra, the newly elected state secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress. A woman residing in Adhartal tells the police that she works as a domestic help. She says she got married in 2016 and has a daughter. According to her complaint, she comes in contact with Rishabh Mishra through social media in 2020, after which regular conversations begin between them. When the woman’s husband comes to know about the friendship, disputes start increasing between the couple. Subsequently, the woman begins living separately from her husband along with her daughter. Took the woman to Goa The woman alleges that in March 2022, Rishabh meets her at a hotel located on Ukhri Road. There, on the pretext of marriage, he establishes physical relations with her. She further alleges that in December 2025, Rishabh Mishra takes her and her daughter to Goa. During their stay at a hotel in Goa, he again establishes physical relations with her. Later refused to marry The woman tells the police that in December 2025, she comes to know that Rishabh Mishra’s marriage is fixed elsewhere. When she raises objections, the accused refuses to marry her and tells her that he is already married, due to which he cannot marry her. Allegation of threat to kill The woman alleges that the accused exploits her for several years on the pretext of marriage. She further alleges that he later threatens to kill her. She says that due to the threats, she remains frightened for a long time and informs her mother and brother-in-law about the matter. Lordganj police station says the case is under investigation and further action will be taken on the basis of facts that emerge during the probe.
