In the case of the death of a UP truck driver in Guna, the police presented a 210-page challan after 58 days. It contains statements from 38 witnesses. The dismissed SI Ramveer Kushwah is imprisoned in Rewa jail in this case. Before presenting the challan, when the police contacted the witnesses regarding their previously given statements, they were surprised. Some people say that they were not aware that they were witnesses in this case. Meanwhile, some allege that the police took signatures and recorded statements according to their own will. What they told was not even written down. Dainik Bhaskar investigated the challan presented by the police. We spoke to the police to understand some points of the challan. Read the report… Driver Makhan Kushwah, a resident of Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, died on June 21, 2015, due to burns in Ruthiyai. At that time, a case of unnatural death was registered at Dharnavada police station and an investigation was initiated. The then Station House Officer (SHO) SI Ramveer Kushwah investigated the case and then sent a report to close it. After approval from the authorities, the case was dismissed. Case Reopened After 6 Years, FIR for Abetment to Suicide The father of the deceased Makhan was continuously trying to get justice for his son and know the truth. Tired of visiting police stations, in 2019, he filed a habeas corpus petition in the Gwalior High Court. The court granted permission to reopen the case. The case was reopened in 2019 itself. Based on the facts that emerged during the police investigation, a case of abetment to suicide was initially registered against an unknown accused. As the investigation progressed, Ramveer Kushwah’s role came to light. Later, the police added sections of concealing evidence and criminal conspiracy against Kushwah. Now understand how Kushwah’s magic came to light… Ramveer was arrested by the police on October 27, 2025. The challan had to be presented within 60 days in the case. Dharnavada police presented a 210-page challan in the District Court on December 25. In this, the detailed report (kaifiyat) of 28 pages provides an account of the entire incident and the subsequent investigation. 38 witnesses have been named in the challan. These include those who reported the incident, those who sent the driver to the hospital in a burnt condition, those who went with the ambulance, doctors who performed the post-mortem, and police personnel. One thing that changed the direction of the case The most important role in the case was played by the deceased Makhan’s wife. In 2015, when Ramveer Kushwah wrote a letter to close this case, it was stated that Makhan Kushwah’s wife had died, due to which he had started living in distress. For this very reason, he poured diesel on himself and committed suicide. The father based his argument on this and said that Makhan’s wife is alive. In 2019, when the investigation of the case resumed on the court’s order, it was found that the claim of the wife’s death was false; she was alive. She had left home after frequent disputes with Makhan. She had remarried. The police reached Makhan’s first wife and also took her statement. This proved to be the turning point in the entire case. Testimony was taken, but witnesses’ statements were written according to their own interpretation Another shocking fact has come to light in the charge sheet: the statements of the witnesses who had previously given statements are now different during interrogation. The witnesses who were said to be present at the scene in earlier statements are now saying that they have no knowledge of it. They don’t even know that they are witnesses in this case. Some witnesses say that what they had told was completely different. Now the police are also looking for answers in this matter as to what the truth actually is. Some witnesses, whose statements vary Suresh Banjara Golu alias Vishal Sharma Petrol Pump Staff Witness Purushottam Saini Witness Ashutosh Sharma alias Ashu Petrol Pump Staff Witness Ganesh Lodha Statement of another eyewitness, said – went to the pump with Gaurav On the date of the incident, I went to the petrol pump with Gaurav Sikarwar on a bike. There, 2-3 policemen and members of the public were already present near the burnt person. The burnt person was picked up by ambulance staff, placed in an ambulance, and taken towards Guna Hospital. Ashu Sharma went along in the ambulance. An affidavit has been presented before the CSP, the stamp for which was issued on 24.09.20 and it was typed and notarized by Rajkumari Dwivedi on 25.09.20. And this is how Ramveer Kushwah ended up behind bars Five criminal cases were already registered against Ramveer Kushwah. He had received anticipatory bail from the High Court in the Atmaram Pardi murder case in September. After this, Ramveer Kushwah, who had been missing for many years, came to Guna. Here, his supporters started arriving to welcome him. He was welcomed with garlands of flowers. However, he forgot that five other cases were also registered against him, in which he could also be arrested. After this, he was arrested by Kotwali police on October 7, 2025, in the case of fraudulently purchasing the car used in the Atmaram Pardi case. He was arrested and presented in court, from where he was sent on a three-day police remand. After the remand ended, he was presented in court, from where he was sent to jail. In court, he requested that he be sent to Chanchoda Jail. After this, the court sent him to Chanchoda Sub-Jail. During this time, the Makhan Kushwah case had also come to light. He was also to be arrested in this case. Dharnavada police filed an application for his formal arrest in court, after which, being in judicial custody in Chanchoda Sub-Jail, the police took permission from the court and formally arrested him on October 27. Later, he was again sent to judicial custody. After some time, he was shifted from Chanchoda Jail to Rewa Central Jail on the orders of the jail headquarters.
