Demand for flowers comes from Mahakaleshwar and surrounding areas Horticulture and Food Processing Minister Narayan Singh Kushwah informed that there is a huge demand for flowers throughout the year at Ujjain, Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, and other religious sites. Keeping this in view, the government has formulated an action plan to develop a commercial flower production cluster around Ujjain. The department sees Simhastha 2028 as an opportunity Minister Kushwaha said that during the Simhastha fair, millions of devotees reach Ujjain and the demand for flowers for worship increases manifold. In such a situation, instead of importing flowers from outside, the supply of flowers produced by local farmers will be ensured. This will reduce transportation costs and farmers will get better prices. The minister said that flower production will not be considered merely traditional farming but will be developed as an agri-enterprise, which will significantly increase farmers’ income. Support will be provided from training to market Plan to make the state a leader in flower production Minister Kushwah said that Madhya Pradesh is already among the leading states in the country in flower production. This 100-acre cluster in Ujjain will prove to be an important step towards making the state number one in the field of flower production.
