Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed concern over incidents of rape against innocent girls. Addressing the ‘Samriddh Didi Se Samriddh Rashtra’: Republic Day Abhinandan Samaroh 2026′ at Pusa in Delhi, Shivraj said, “Even today, when we hear of such incidents in this era, it pains the heart, the soul cries. There are still such monsters who mistreat our daughters.” Distressed by the incident of rape of a 6-year-old innocent girl Shivraj said, “A few days ago, I received news that a six-year-old innocent girl was raped. It was a case from Raisen district. There were protests for a day or two. I saw that through protests, the culprit was caught, but what about this daughter? So we tried and deposited ten lakh rupees in the girl’s account. When that daughter grows up, she will directly receive 28 lakh rupees, so that her future becomes better.” To stop such incidents, social perception must change Shivraj said- Such incidents make the soul weep. When I talk about social change, I also talk about how things like these can be stopped? Therefore, social empowerment is also necessary to change society’s perception. Drugs and alcohol have become such things that cause the most suffering to sisters and daughters. Running campaigns like de-addiction is also necessary for social empowerment. Shivraj said: Women are the nation’s greatest strength Addressing women associated with self-help groups, Shivraj Singh Chouhan called them the greatest strength of society and the nation. He said that the presence of sisters fills a brother’s courtyard with happiness, and today this house has truly become a maternal home. Calling women living, awakened goddesses, Shivraj said that when sisters make up their minds, they can perform the greatest miracles. He said that these women have proved that they are not weak, but truly strong. Sisters are Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that ‘Didis’ (sisters) are the embodiment of Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, and they have the power to bring about the greatest changes. He informed that today, 10 crore women in the country are associated with self-help groups, which is a historic achievement for women’s empowerment. Called the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ target a mantra The Union Minister said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of making 3 crore ‘Didis’ ‘Lakhpati Didis’. He said, “I proudly say that this target is not just a scheme for us, but a mantra, and we will achieve it very soon.” Aajivika Mission became a movement Shivraj said that the Aajivika Mission is no longer just a government scheme, but has taken the form of a revolution and a mass movement. This mission has not only economically empowered women but has also broken the social shackles that held them back for years. Now the path to personal loans will be easier The Chief Minister said that the next goal now is to make the process easier if any ‘Didi’ (sister) wants to take a personal loan, so that the economic power of women can be further strengthened. Saras Melas will be expanded Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Saras Melas are currently held in small numbers, but their utility is very significant. He announced that now, not limited to Delhi only, Saras Melas will also be organized in other parts of the country, so that the ‘Didis’ can get a large and suitable market for their products.
