A speeding car struck an 11-year-old boy on the Jaipur–Jabalpur National Highway passing through Rajgarh city on Friday afternoon, throwing him nearly 20 feet away. The child has been admitted to hospital, where his condition remains critical. The accident occurred near the Anjani Lal Temple. According to eyewitnesses, the boy was running across the highway while holding a kite. As he jumped over the divider and entered the opposite lane, a fast-moving car coming from the bus stand side hit him with great force. Impact caught on CCTV The collision was so severe that the child was flung about 20 feet from the point of impact. People present at the spot rushed him to the district hospital. Witnesses said the boy ran onto the road without checking for traffic, leaving the car driver with little time to react. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, clearly showing the child running with the kite, leaping over the divider, and being hit by the car moments later. Panic ensued in the area following the accident. Renewed demand for city bypass The incident has once again raised concerns over the national highway passing through the heart of Rajgarh city. Local residents say repeated accidents highlight the urgent need for a bypass to divert heavy and fast-moving traffic away from residential areas. People have demanded that the administration strengthen safety measures on the highway and expedite the construction of a bypass to prevent such accidents in the future.
