IPL champion RCB fast bowler Yash Dayal has received interim relief from the High Court in a rape case. Justice Ganeshram Meena’s court granted the relief on Friday while hearing Dayal’s anticipatory bail petition. The court stayed his arrest and directed the cricketer to appear before the investigating officer by January 30. The FIR had been lodged against Dayal at Sanganer Police Station (Jaipur) by the complainant. Investigating Officer present in court with case diary Yash’s lawyer, Chandrashekhar Sharma, said that in the previous hearing, the court had summoned the investigating officer along with the case diary. The IO was present in court today. The lawyer added that the FIR was filed with a two-year delay. He further stated that they were willing to cooperate in the investigation. On this basis, the court granted interim relief against arrest. It may be noted that after the POCSO court rejected his anticipatory bail petition, Yash Dayal filed a fresh anticipatory bail plea in the High Court. Always met complainant in public places Dayal’s lawyer informed the court that Yash Dayal always met the complainant in public places and in the presence of other team members. They never met alone in private. During these meetings, the complainant never mentioned that she was under 18 years of age. The FIR also does not mention that her age was below 18 at the time of the alleged rape. The lawyer further questioned that if the alleged incident had happened in Kanpur, why did the complainant travel to different cities with him afterward? The complainant could not clarify this in court. Meanwhile, just eight days after receiving relief from the Allahabad High Court in a separate rape case filed in Uttar Pradesh, the complainant lodged a case against Dayal in Jaipur.
