Babar-Shaheen return to Pakistani team before T20 World Cup:Set to play three T20 games against Australia; First match on 29th January

Veteran players Babar Azam and pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi have returned to Pakistan’s T20 team before the World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Friday that these two senior players will participate in the 3-match T20 series against Australia, starting January 29. The return of Babar-Shaheen will strengthen the Pakistani team before the World Cup. The team is scheduled to play its first match against the Netherlands on 7th February. Australian team will reach Pakistan on 28th January The Australian team will arrive in Pakistan on January 28. This will be Australia’s second T20 series on Pakistani soil. Previously, only one T20 International match was played in April 2022. Selectors have not released the World Cup team Pakistan selectors have not yet announced the final team for the World Cup. Speculations are also rife about the board withdrawing from the tournament, which are said to be linked to the Bangladesh board’s stance due to security concerns regarding playing in India. Babar-Shaheen were out of the Sri Lanka tour Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi were kept out of the T20 series played against Sri Lanka. This 3-match series ended in a 1-1 draw.
