illicit-affair-leads-to-husband’s-murder-in-gwalior:woman-gets-him-shot-twice-through-lover;-one-bullet-passes-through-head,-another-lodged

A youth’s body was found in bushes in Gwalior, where police say a woman allegedly had her husband killed with the help of her lover because he was coming in the way of their affair. The incident took place in Nayagaon under the Kampoo police station area. According to ASP Anu Beniwal, the body was discovered around 9 pm on Wednesday in bushes along the Nayagaon railway line. The victim had two gunshot wounds to the head—one bullet passed straight through, while the other remained lodged inside. At the scene, police recovered liquor bottles, disposable glasses and snacks, raising suspicion that the murder may have been committed during a party. On Thursday, investigators traced the registration number of a motorcycle found at the spot and identified the deceased as Santosh Giri alias Goswami (25), a resident of Jakhoda in Ghatigaon. After confirming his identity, police intensified the investigation. Wife was not living with husband During the probe, police learned that Santosh married Reena in 2020. Reena is a resident of Mehgaon in Bhind district. The couple has two children—one four years old and the other one and a half years old. Police said Santosh was addicted to intoxication, and the couple frequently argued. For the past three years, Reena had been living in Chinour at the house of her brother-in-law, Deepak Giri. Conspiracy to Kill Husband Police said the primary reason behind the disputes between Santosh and Reena was Amit Khan. Reena was allegedly involved in an affair with Amit Khan, a resident of Mehgaon. About three months ago, Amit Khan had assaulted Santosh Giri. After this incident, police said Reena allegedly conspired to have her husband killed. Reena’s lover, Amit Khan, has been absconding since the incident. Attempt to mislead investigation When police first questioned Reena, the deceased’s wife, she allegedly tried to mislead investigators. However, during strict interrogation, she reportedly confessed that her lover Amit Khan, along with his friend Sunny, murdered Santosh Giri. Following her statement, police teams launched a search for the accused. Police continues raids SSP Dharamveer Singh Yadav said that in the case of the youth’s shooting death, the identity of the deceased has been established and the case has been solved. He said the murder was carried out by Amit Khan, an acquaintance of the deceased’s wife, along with a youth named Sunny. Police said continuous raids are being conducted and the accused will be arrested soon.
