Good news for cricket fans in Rajasthan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly included Jaipur among the potential cities to host Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. This claim was made by Dindayal Kumawat, Convener of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) Ad-hoc Committee. Kumawat stated that with government support, the RCA will make every effort to bring IPL matches back to Jaipur. He also announced plans to develop another cricket ground within the Sawai Mansingh Stadium complex to host national-level matches. RCA academy ground to be expanded according to BCCI standards The Chairman of Rajasthan State Sports Council and Secretary of the Sports Department, Neeraj K. Pawan, inspected the RCA Academy Ground. D.D. Kumawat was also present during the inspection. Both officials decided that the RCA Academy Ground, located inside the Sawai Mansingh Stadium premises, will be expanded according to BCCI’s prescribed standards. Construction work is expected to begin this week. RCA celebrates possible IPL 2026 venue announcement Dindayal Kumawat expressed happiness over Jaipur being declared as a potential venue for IPL 2026. He said that with the support of the state government, a successful IPL 2026 event can be organized at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Kumawat added that the RCA Ad-hoc Committee will soon formally request the state government to meet all necessary BCCI requirements, ensuring a grand and successful IPL event in Jaipur. He also mentioned that the Rajasthan Royals team will inspect the stadium soon. New committee formed to strengthen district cricket infrastructure In addition, the RCA Ad-hoc Committee has formed a three-member panel to oversee annual grants to district cricket associations, expand facilities, and ensure effective implementation of sports activities at the district level. Chairman Subhash Joshi said that the meeting held at the RCA office and academy was attended by representatives from five district cricket associations, along with D.D. Kumawat. Over 20 other district associations also supported the decision through phone and verbal consent. After a detailed discussion on various demands of district associations and RCA proposals, the committee received unanimous approval. The committee aims to promote cricket development across the state, strengthen infrastructure, and provide better facilities for players.
