Team India stars Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja will feature in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. Both will be in action against each other as Punjab take on Saurashtra in an Elite Group B match in Rajkot on 22 January. Both cricketers were part of the Indian team, which lost the three-match ODI series against New Zealand by a 1-2 margin. This was India’s first-ever ODI series defeat to New Zealand at home. On the other hand, Jadeja’s participation in this match was confirmed by Cricbuzz in a report. The experienced all-rounder has not been at his best and will look to return to form after an underwhelming show in the ODI series against New Zealand. Jadeja, on the other hand, had a series to forget where he scored just 43 runs in three matches and failed to take even one wicket. Jadeja has played one match in the Ranji Trophy this season, when he turned out for Saurashtra against Madhya Pradesh on 25 October. Gill, on the other hand, will be featuring in the Ranji Trophy for the first time in the Punjab vs Saurashtra game. Saurashtra are placed fourth in Group B while Punjab are sixth. Both teams have two Group B matches left in this edition of the Ranji Trophy and will need outright victories in a bid to make it to the quarter-finals. The top two teams from each Elite group qualify for the quarters.
