The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a major decision for teachers ahead of Makar Sankranti. In a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, the state government approved the fourth promotion pay scale for assistant teachers (LDT) and upper division teachers (UDT) working in primary and middle schools. The decision will benefit around 1.22 lakh teachers across the state who have completed 35 years of service. Under the government’s decision, teachers of both LDT and UDT cadres will be given the benefit of the long-pending fourth promotion pay scale. After this, the average salary of LDT teachers will be around 1.15 lakh rupees and the average salary of UDT teachers will be more than 1.25 lakh rupees. New pay scale to be implemented from July 1, 2023
This pay scale will be effective from July 1, 2023. Teachers who have completed 35 years of service before July 2023 will receive full arrears from that date. It is estimated that the arrears amount could range from 1.20 lakh to 1.80 lakh rupees. Teachers who complete 35 years of service between 2023 and 2026 will be given arrears from the date of completion of service.
