The body of a young man, who worked as a chef at Samdariya Hotel in Rewa’s Khutehi area, was found hanging from a noose on Saturday. Vipresh Pandey, alias Monu (23), was a resident of the Tendua area in Shahpur, Rewa. He had been living in a live-in relationship with a girl for the past 7 months. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene. They had the door open, took the body down, and sent it for post-mortem. In the initial investigation, the police are calling it a suicide, although the family has expressed suspicion of murder. They suspect the girlfriend. Family said – Vipresh was under stress for the past few days
The family informed that a few days ago, some people had reached Vipresh’s room with the intention of killing him. His girlfriend was also present at that time. She intervened and sent them back. Since then, Vipresh was scared and under stress. The family alleges that the same incident might be linked to Vipresh’s death. Suspicion on girlfriend’s role, demand for investigation
The family has demanded a fair investigation, stating Vipresh’s girlfriend’s role as suspicious. They say that Vipresh met the girl in his maternal uncle’s village, from where their contact grew, and later they started living together. The family claims that Vipresh was of a normal disposition. There was no reason at all to take a step like suicide. Girlfriend said – Vipresh had locked the room
The deceased’s girlfriend told the police that on the day of the incident, Vipresh first locked the room from outside where she was present. After this, Vipresh locked his own room from inside. After some time, when no response was received from inside, the door was opened. Here, Vipresh was found hanging. Family members are also raising questions regarding this statement of the girlfriend. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating all aspects. Police say that further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report, call details, and other evidence.
