The Ujjain administration has accelerated preparations for Simhastha 2028, aiming to ensure a smooth and enriching experience for the millions of pilgrims expected during the festival. This year, the development plan is not limited to the renowned Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple alone but includes almost all major religious sites in the city. It is estimated that around 30 crore devotees will visit Ujjain during Simhastha 2028. Apart from Mahakaleshwar, pilgrims are expected to visit key temples including Chintaman Ganesh, Harsiddhi, Shani, Siddhavat, Angareswar, and Garhkalika Mata. Development works at these temples are planned to be completed ahead of the festival, and the Chief Minister has been informed of the preparations. Inspection of major temples Divisional Commissioner Ashish Singh and Collector Raushan Kumar Singh are currently inspecting major temples in Ujjain. The primary goal of the inspections is to identify areas where devotees may face difficulties and to improve necessary facilities. The inspection began at Chintaman Ganesh Temple, focusing on parking, darshan arrangements, and dharmashala facilities. At Shani Temple, special attention was given to open areas, holding zones, wide access paths, shaded areas, and vehicle parking arrangements. During the inspection of Bhukhi Mata Temple, officials issued directions to develop facilities for yagnashala, community meals, organized spaces for rituals, toilets, and parking. The teams also inspected Harsiddhi Mata Temple, Angareswar Temple, Siddhavat, and Garhkalika Mata Temple. At Siddhavat Temple, resolving waterlogging issues was given special priority. Plans to ensure smooth pilgrim experience Collector Raushan Kumar Singh stated that discussions are being held with temple priests and local residents to develop plans ensuring that the millions of devotees visiting Simhastha 2028 have a smooth, safe, and fulfilling experience across the city. The administration is focused on upgrading infrastructure, improving accessibility, and ensuring proper management of crowds, parking, and essential facilities at all major religious sites ahead of the mega festival.
