In a significant operation against the use of banned and hazardous Chinese manja, Ujjain police intercepted a 19-year-old man and a minor selling the dangerous kite thread. Authorities seized 12 spools of Chinese manja from them. Police action at Shanti palace Chowraha According to the Nanakheda police, based on information from an informant, two individuals carrying plastic bags were spotted near Shanti Palace Chowraha, in front of Nanakheda Stadium, attempting to sell banned Chinese manja for kite flying. The police immediately reached the spot and apprehended the two individuals matching the description provided by the informant. Seized items and accused details The accused has been identified as Fardeen Khan, son of Farid Khan, aged 19, resident of Agar Malwa, along with a minor. Upon searching them, police recovered 12 spools of banned Chinese manja (hazardous kite thread) stored in a plastic bag. The manja bore the brand name “MONO KTC”. The estimated value of the seized manja is around ₹3,000. Both accused admitted that they had come to Ujjain specifically to sell the dangerous kite thread. Warning against banned Chinese Manja Authorities continue to warn citizens that using or selling Chinese manja is illegal and extremely dangerous, as it has caused serious injuries and accidents in the past. Police have assured strict action against anyone found violating the ban.
