From the 2026–27 academic session, admission to all postgraduate (PG) courses in Madhya Pradesh will be through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG). The state Higher Education Department has decided to end merit-based or direct admissions for PG programmes. The move is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP). Under the new system, students will be eligible to pursue postgraduate studies only in their major or minor subjects studied at the undergraduate level. Admission will be granted only after qualifying CUET-PG or a university-level entrance examination in the relevant subject. Applications open till January 14 The last date to apply for CUET-PG is January 14, 2026, till 11:50 pm. Candidates have about a week left to complete the application process, which will be conducted entirely online. The correction window for applications will remain open from January 18 to January 20, 2026, till 11:50 pm. The Higher Education Department has issued detailed guidelines following a communication from the National Testing Agency (NTA).
