Twenty people have died after consuming contaminated water in Bhagirathpura, Indore, while nine patients remain in the ICU. According to the health department, a total of 437 people were admitted to hospitals in the case. By Wednesday night, 381 patients had been discharged, leaving 56 still under treatment. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, authorities opened the valve of a water tank near the Bhagirathpura police outpost, causing surprise as water began flowing from the same spot where a drainage pipeline had been laid two days earlier. Soon after, the pit dug for the drainage line filled with water, raising fresh concerns over contamination. Advisory issued An announcement has been made in the area instructing residents not to use water supplied from the Narmada line, as the flushing process will continue for some time to completely remove contaminated water. Due to fear of contamination, residents are filtering and boiling water before consumption, and continuous advisories are being issued to use only boiled water for drinking. After so many deaths in Bhagirathpura, people have stopped using borewell water. Residents are dependent on tanker and RO water. On Wednesday, 18 patients reached the primary health center with complaints of diarrhea. Out of these, 6 have been referred.
