Indore Collector, Mayor arrive at RSS office late night:Discussions held over deaths in water contamination case; Cong says, ‘Officials went to salute’

Indore Collector Shivam Verma and Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav reached the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office late Wednesday night. According to sources linked to the RSS, discussions focused on the deaths caused by contaminated water in Bhagirathpura and issues related to administrative coordination. The meeting was held at the RSS’s new office, ‘Sudarshan’, located in Rambagh, Indore. Sources said RSS Malwa Province Pracharak Rajmohan held a one-to-one discussion with the Collector and the Mayor for nearly one-and-a-half hours. Mayor reprimanded over situation Sources further said that during the discussion, the Mayor was strongly reprimanded over the handling of the Bhagirathpura situation. The emphasis was on preventing such incidents in the future and ensuring better coordination among departments. It was also discussed that officials should work in coordination with elected representatives and address issues without delay. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav arrived at the RSS office in a government vehicle. After dropping him off, the official vehicle returned. Following the conclusion of the meeting, the Mayor left the premises in his private car. Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar after the meeting, Mayor Bhargav said, I keep visiting the RSS office. I came today as well in a natural course. Focus on restoring Indore’s image Sources said the meeting stressed the need to restore Indore’s image following the incident. Improving conditions in Bhagirathpura was identified as the top priority. Instructions were discussed to ensure all affected and needy residents are reached and that there is no negligence in the treatment of the sick. Congress raises questions on administrative neutrality Congress state spokesperson Amit Chaurasia criticized the visit, saying that people are dying due to contaminated water while the administration appears helpless. He alleged that the Collector’s presence at the RSS office raises serious questions about administrative impartiality and dignity. Chaurasia said the visit reflects a nexus between the administration and the ruling organization, claiming that constitutional positions are no longer functioning independently under BJP rule. BJP steps up internal coordination The BJP has also intensified internal coordination over the Bhagirathpura incident. BJP Organization General Secretary Hitanand Sharma held a closed-door meeting in Indore with the Mayor, local councillor Kamal Waghela, MIC member Bablu Sharma, and state organization general secretary Gaurav Randive. Sources said leaders were instructed to work in coordination and avoid unnecessary public statements. Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has also visited Delhi in connection with the issue. Following directions from the party’s high command, BJP leaders have reportedly been asked to refrain from making public comments on the matter.
