WATCH| Rohit Sharma trains in nets before IND-NZ ODI series:Former captain practices with fielding coach T Dilip, to be in action on 11 January

Rohit Sharma sweated it out and practiced hard ahead of the India vs New Zealand ODI series. The former Indian captain looked in good shape as he trained in the nets for the three matches against New Zealand. India will host New Zealand for three ODIs and five T20Is, starting on 11 January. Shubman Gill will captain India and will have Shreyas Iyer back as his deputy after both players missed the ODIs against South Africa. In a couple of Instagram stories shared from the official handle of Rohit Sharma’s team ‘team45ro’, the right-hander was seen honing his fielding skills. One of the Instagram stories also featured Rohit playing a delightful straight drive in the nets. Indian fans would hope that Rohit is in good form in the ODIs against New Zealand. Rohit had become the No 1 ranked ODI batter for the first time in his career last year, after a Player of the Series performance against Australia. Rohit presently has 781 rating points in ICC ODI batting rankings. He is followed by Virat Kohli, who is at number two and has 773 rating points to his name. And he had a mixed outing in both those games. Against Sikkim, Rohit struck a magnificent 155 off just 94 balls, starring in Mumbai’s eight-wicket victory. However, he fell for a golden duck in Mumbai’s second match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy this season, which was against Uttarakhand.
