Police have arrested four accused in the case, including two minors aged 17. The incident dates back to December 23. According to police, the main accused, Sushil Nagvanshi, invited his friend Chandan Nagvanshi (21) for a drinking party as part of a pre-planned conspiracy. Sushil, along with Sahil and two minor associates, took Chandan on a motorcycle to the dense Midghat forest, located around 40 km from Javali village. On the way, the group purchased beer and liquor from a shop on Makhanagar Road. After reaching the forest, all five consumed alcohol together. Killed after intoxication Police said that once Chandan became heavily intoxicated, the accused attacked him. They crushed his head with a heavy stone, killing him on the spot. To conceal the identity of the body, the accused later brought petrol worth ₹50, poured it over Chandan’s body and set it on fire. In an attempt to destroy further evidence, the accused also set Chandan’s motorcycle on fire at some distance from the spot. After committing the crime, they returned to the village and continued their routine as if nothing had happened. Missing report leads to investigation Chandan went missing on December 23. His family lodged a missing report at Makhan Nagar police station on December 24. Superintendent of Police Sai Krishna Thota said villagers had last seen Chandan leaving with the accused on the day he disappeared, which raised suspicion. During initial questioning, the accused tried to mislead investigators and claimed cooperation. Mobile location exposes accused Police examined technical evidence, including mobile phone location data, which showed that all the accused were present together in the Midghat forest at the time of the incident. Following strict interrogation, the accused confessed to the murder. On December 31, police recovered Chandan’s half-burnt body and the burnt motorcycle from the forest based on the accused’s disclosure. Arrests and legal action Additional SP Abhishek Rajan said that after the post-mortem examination, a murder case was registered late Thursday night. All four accused, including two juveniles, were arrested. Police said the full details of the case will be shared during an official press briefing on Friday. He suspected that Chandan’s mother had used black magic against his mother, leading to her death. Driven by this belief, he planned the murder as an act of revenge. Police said further investigation is ongoing.
