BJP leader’s sex video on highway goes viral Mandsaur BJP leader Manohar Lal Dhakad made headlines after a video of him having sex with a woman on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway went viral. The incident, recorded by high-security expressway cameras on May 13, showed Dhakad parking his white Baleno (MP14 CC 4782) and engaging in sexual activity. An FIR was lodged at Bhanpur police station, and after two days underground, Dhakad surrendered. Despite public outrage over him being sent to jail with his face masked, he secured bail the very next day. Dhakad later told police that six to eight NHAI employees had surrounded his car near Neemthur point, blackmailing him for Rs 1 lakh. He paid Rs 20,000, but the remaining Rs 80,000 was allegedly unpaid, prompting someone among them to leak the video. Three NHAI employees were later penalised. Notably, Dhakad’s wife is Sarpanch and District Panchayat member from Ward No. 8. 2. Car falls into ravine at 150 kmph, five dead A tragic accident on November 14 on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Mahi River Bridge in Ratlam claimed five lives. A Mahindra XUV 700 (MH03 EL 1388) carrying five family members from UP and Gujarat fell into a ravine after the driver dozed off at a speed of 150 kmph. The victims included Rasool Ahmad (71), his son Abdul Khaliq (40), Durrez (39), Danish (34), and Durrez’s son Moiddin (9). CCTV footage captured the car breaking through the railing and falling. The family was on a Delhi-Mumbai journey. 3. Murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi on honeymoon Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered during his honeymoon, sparking one of the year’s biggest criminal investigations. Raja and his wife Sonam married on May 11 and left for Shillong on May 20. After last speaking to family on May 23, Raja’s body was discovered in a ravine near Sora, Shillong, on June 2. Police investigations revealed Sonam as the mastermind behind the murder, along with her lover Raj Kushwaha and three accomplices—Akash Rajput, Vishal Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi. All accused are in Shillong jail 4. Van falls into well after colliding with bike, 12 dead On April 27 in Mandsaur, a van carrying 14 people fell into a well after colliding with a bike near Budha-Takravad intersection. Twelve people died, including the bike rider and a local man, Manohar Singh, who went down the well attempting a rescue. Four others, including two children, survived. The victims were travelling from Unhel (Ujjain) to Antari Mata Temple (Manasa, Neemuch) for darshan. Villagers carried out initial rescue efforts before SDERF and police teams arrived. The van and 11 bodies were eventually pulled out with a crane. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and CM Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the tragedy. 5. Brutality after gang rape, woman dies On May 24 in Khalwa, Khandwa, two intoxicated men, Sunil and Hariram, assaulted a woman, who later died from her injuries. Police arrested the accused, aided by testimony from Hariram’s son, who witnessed the events. The incident occurred on May 23 around 9 PM, when the men were drinking in the courtyard. The victim’s family discovered her in a critically injured state. During the trial, which began on August 11, the full brutality of the assault came to light.
