In a major development, Ellyse Perry has pulled out of the upcoming WPL 2026 (Women’s Premier League) due to personal reasons. Perry was retained by RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) for Rs 2 crore ahead of the WPL 2026 mega auction, which took place on 27 November. Annabel Sutherland, another Australian all-rounder, has also opted out of WPL due to similar reasons. Meanwhile, UP Warriorz’ new recruit Tara Norris will miss the tournament due to national duty. WPL 2026 is set to start on 9 January. The Australian stalwart had scored 347 runs and also took seven wickets in nine matches. Her absence is a significant blow for Smriti Mandhana’s RCB. RCB have named Sayali Satghare as a replacement for Ellyse Perry. The all-rounder has previously played for Gujarat Giants in WPL, picking up one wicket in four matches. She joins the defending champions at her reserve price of Rs 30 lakh. Delhi Capitals had retained Sutherland for Rs 2.2 crore. The Australian all-rounder has been part of the Delhi Capitals since the 2024 edition, playing nine matches, where she has played 17 matches, scoring 150 runs and picking up 13 wickets. Meanwhile, King is one of the most experienced spinners in the world and her acquisition is indeed going to bolster the Delhi Capitals in WPL 2026. She has joined the Jemimah Rodrigues-led outfit for Rs 60 lakh. UP Warriorz replace Tara Norris with Charli Knott The UP Warriorz, meanwhile, have picked Charli Knott as the replacement for Tara Norris. The USA left-arm pacer, who is the first-ever bowler to take a five-wicket haul in the WPL, will be unavailable because of national duty. Australian uncapped all-rounder Charli Knott, meanwhile, has been signed by UP Warriorz for Rs 10 lakh. UP Warriorz will have Abhishek Nayar as their head coach for WPL 2026. The franchise is yet to name a captain.
