Indore police recovered Rs 1.18 crore from a car, believed to belong to a plywood company owner.
As per the information, authorities suspect the money could be part of a hawala transaction. The incident took place late Monday night when Kanadia police were conducting routine vehicle checks. A Tata Nexon (MP09 DR-8271) carrying three young men was stopped. Upon opening the car’s trunk, police found a large bag containing Rs 1.18 crore in cash. Senior officers were called to the scene after the discovery. The owner of the plywood business, Sanad Agrawal, did not provide any explanation regarding the cash. The police informed the Income Tax Department on Tuesday morning. Owner linked to two companies Sanad Agrawal owns two companies: Saflex International Limited and Mantram Techno Fab Pvt. Ltd. The cash was reportedly meant to be delivered to a farm house, according to the three men in the car—Rajesh Yadav, Prabhat Agrawal, and Anand. They stated that Sanad Agrawal had given them the bag for this purpose. Police checking drive leads to discovery Indore Police Commissioner Santosh Singh had ordered special checks at all outer police stations on December 31, focusing on illegal liquor and smuggling activities. During the operation near Bicholi Mardana Bridge, police found the cash in the car. Investigation underway Officers immediately contacted senior authorities and also spoke to Sanad Agrawal during the night. Police said further investigations could reveal more details about the source and intended use of the money.
