16 IAS and 16 IPS officers of the Madhya Pradesh cadre are set to retire next year. These include officers of DGP, Special DG, ADG, IG, DIG, and SP ranks. Chief Secretary Anurag Jain has received a one-year extension. If he does not receive another extension, he will retire on September 30, 2026. Meanwhile, next year, Shivpuri Collector Ravindra Kumar Chaudhary, Shahdol Collector Kedar Singh, and Chambal Division Commissioner Suresh Kumar will also retire. Additionally, 1996 batch IAS officer and Principal Secretary of Mineral Resources and Animal Husbandry Department, Umakant Umrao, will also retire next August. Whether he will receive the Chief Secretary’s pay scale will depend on the retirement of the current Chief Secretary and the return of officers posted at the Centre. If an Additional Chief Secretary level officer returns from the Centre, Umrao’s Additional Chief Secretary pay scale might be stalled. Search for ADG Intelligence, IG Law and Order Among the officers who are going to retire, the posts of ADG Intelligence, IG Law and Order hold significant importance in the government among IPS officers. In such a situation, the government will have to search for eligible IPS officers for these two posts next year. Similarly, the post of Secondary Education Board is also considered important. The government will also appoint a senior IAS officer for this post. 29 IAS-IPS retired in 2025 A total of 29 IAS and IPS officers are retiring this year in 2025. 20 IAS officers, including Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, were to retire in 2025, out of which the Chief Secretary received an extension. Similarly, 11 IPS officers, including the DGP, were to retire in 2025, out of which the DGP has received a one-year service extension based on the Supreme Court’s order for the DGP’s tenure to be two years. Meanwhile, Special DG Pawan Srivastava is set to retire this month.
