The Itarsi Ordnance Factory, which manufactures bombs, ammunition, and missiles for the Indian Army, received a bomb threat on Monday night. The threat arrived via an official factory email, prompting immediate security measures. Police respond swiftly Forces from Pathrauta, Itarsi, Rampur, and Tawanagar police stations reached the factory immediately. ASP Abhishek Rajan was also present at the site. The entire area surrounding the factory has been cordoned off to ensure safety. Verification and heightened security According to SP Sai Krishna Thota, the threat email is being verified to determine its source. As a precaution, additional forces and the bomb disposal squad (BDS) were deployed. Security at the factory has been significantly increased. Bomb squad brought from Chhindwara The local bomb disposal teams were unavailable because of VIP duties. One team was deployed for the Chief Minister’s and JP Nadda’s security in Betul, another in Gwalior, and a third in Burhanpur. Due to this, the bomb squad had to be urgently called from Chhindwara. Previous threats Earlier, on 17 April, the factory received a similar threatening email, which was later found to be fake. After this new threat, security agencies are on high alert and taking no chances. An official complaint has been lodged at the Pathrauta police station.
