4-year old taken by wild animal from home:Father watches helplessly as child mauled; body traced in nearby forest after four hour search

A tragic incident has shocked Alirajpur, where a wild animal snatched a four-year-old girl from her father’s lap and fled towards the jungle. After a four-hour search, the child’s body was found in bushes on a nearby hill, with her face badly mauled. Forest officials suspect that the animal involved could be a leopard. The incident took place on Saturday evening in Godwani village of Bicholi gram. According to information, Devsingh was standing near his house with his daughter Raksha sitting in his lap when the animal suddenly came from the jungle and attacked. The animal grabbed the girl and ran away before her father could react. Ranger said – Leopard must have hunted
As soon as the incident was reported, villagers and the forest department team went into the forest to search for the girl. The search began around 7:30 PM. After about four hours of effort, the girl’s body was found around 11:30 PM. Forest Department Ranger Tarun Aniya said that a leopard probably hunted the girl. It had mutilated the upper part of the girl’s body. The police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
