The Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly has completed 69 years since its establishment. Therefore, a one-day special session of the Assembly has been organized today, December 17. However, even before the event, Congress MLAs protested loudly in the Assembly premises against the renaming of the MNREGA scheme. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar said, “On one hand, Modi talks about spinning Gandhi’s charkha. On the other hand, they have stopped funding the MNREGA scheme, which was named after Mahatma Gandhi. Now they want to change the name of the scheme. Are they afraid of Bapu?” Meanwhile, on the withdrawal of the Land Pooling Act, Congress MLAs said that it is a victory for the public and the Congress. Ultimately, the government had to surrender. Governor inaugurated the exhibition Earlier, Governor Mangubhai Patel inaugurated a photo exhibition based on the theme ‘Seven Decades Journey of the Assembly’ in the assembly premises. This exhibition presents the historical journey of the assembly, significant achievements, and parliamentary works of various periods through pictures. The exhibition showcases important moments from the first assembly to the current 16th assembly. On this occasion, the CM said that the Assembly formed in 1956 and all its memories are being revived through this special session. He said that the beauty of democracy lies in the free exchange of ideas. Whether it is critical of someone or points in our favor, they are presented in an elaborate manner in the House. This special session was held with a positive spirit, and a glimpse of the 2047 plan will be visible in it. The Chief Minister congratulated everyone while appreciating this one-day event. In the special session, the government will present its roadmap, which will discuss the role of Madhya Pradesh in making the state self-reliant and achieving the goal of developed India. Members from both the ruling and opposition parties will present their views on this topic without a question hour. This is the same historic date when the first meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly was held on December 17, 1956. Officials of the Assembly Secretariat informed that a total of 136 pictures have been displayed in this exhibition, which highlight the evolution of the Assembly. This exhibition will remain open for common citizens from December 18 to December 25. Any citizen will be able to view this exhibition by obtaining an entry pass in the Assembly premises. To obtain an entry pass, it will be necessary to bring an Aadhaar card, school or college identity card.
