Women visiting Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple alone will soon find the experience easier and safer. The temple complex and corridor will be made woman-friendly, with 1,100 female employees receiving special training. The training will start from December 17, organised by the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, MP Tourism Board, and the Center for Advanced Research and Development. Each employee will get one hour of training daily for 15 days in batches. The first batch will include 38 employees. Deputy Administrator Simmi Yadav will act as the nodal officer and collect feedback from female devotees after the training. The initiative is part of the Safe Tourist Destination for Women project. Female employees will learn how to assist women visiting alone, help breastfeeding mothers, and support elderly women during darshan and while receiving prasad, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment. Experienced it myself, women are not treated well Dr. Ranjana Mishra of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Bhopal, who brought the training draft for women, said that she herself felt how women are treated on the premises. When she went to get prasad, many people called out, “Prasad for five rupees.” When she stepped forward to take the prasad, she was told that it cost 80 rupees. She asked, “You were saying it was five rupees.” The reply was, “Here, it will be available at this rate. If you get it for five, then take it from somewhere else.” Dr. Mishra said that this behavior needs to be improved. We will start with the temple’s female employees. Later, we will also train the male employees.
