Actor Anupam Kher was unable to reach Khajuraho on Sunday after an IndiGo flight on the Varanasi–Khajuraho route was cancelled. The disruption affected his plans to attend the Khajuraho International Film Festival, which begins on Tuesday with the screening of his film Tanvi The Great. He has now decided to travel by Vande Bharat Express to reach the venue. The impact of the ongoing IndiGo flight crisis was seen on the Varanasi–Khajuraho route. The flight scheduled on Sunday was cancelled without prior relief for passengers. Due to this, Anupam Kher could not travel to Khajuraho as planned. Festival opening with Anupam Kher’s film The Khajuraho International Film Festival begins on Tuesday morning. The opening film of the festival is Tanvi The Great, starring Anupam Kher. He was travelling to attend the opening and interact with audiences. Actor shares frustration on social media After the cancellation, Anupam Kher shared a video on social media. He said he usually does not complain, but felt the need to express his frustration. The video criticised IndiGo Airlines for the inconvenience caused. Luggage delay added to trouble Kher explained that he flew from Hyderabad to Varanasi on an IndiGo flight. He had a connecting flight from Varanasi to Khajuraho. At the airport, he was informed that the connecting flight had been cancelled. His luggage also arrived late, adding to the inconvenience. He said several other passengers were facing similar problems. Among the affected passengers was a woman from France. She was travelling to attend the Khajuraho International Film Festival. The cancellation caused difficulties for international guests as well. Actor chooses alternative travel plan Despite his annoyance, Anupam Kher remained positive. He said that when situations are unfavourable, alternatives must be found. He decided to explore Varanasi and then travel to Khajuraho by train or road. He will now reach Khajuraho from Varanasi by Vande Bharat Express at 2 PM on Tuesday. Questions raised over flight operations Two days earlier, the Khajuraho Airport Director had stated that IndiGo flights between Delhi, Khajuraho and Varanasi were operating regularly. Despite this assurance, the sudden cancellation caused major inconvenience to passengers. Festival dedicated to Dharmendra and Asrani The 11th Khajuraho International Film Festival begins on December 16. The event will continue until December 22. It will be held at the Shilpgram complex in Khajuraho. Organizer Raja Bundela said this year’s festival is dedicated to actors Dharmendra and Asrani. The opening screening on Tuesday at 11 AM will be Tanvi The Great. Tourism Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi will attend the opening and watch the film.Several well-known actors are expected, including Nana Patekar, Raj Babbar, Saurabh Shukla, Sushmita Mukherjee, Rajendra Gupta and Rituparno Sen.Actor Hema Malini will attend on the final day, December 22.
