A Nafis Travels bus (MP 19 P 1285) carrying around 50 passengers from Sidhi to Surat had a minor collision with a car (MP 17 CB 2065) near Shahpur in the Jaso police station area around 10 PM on Thursday. Enraged, the car occupants assaulted the bus driver in front of passengers and abducted him. A passenger alerted Dial 112, after which police rescued the driver safely and detained several accused. Police began identifying the accused based on the car number, which revealed that the vehicle belonged to Rajbhan Singh, the committee manager of Madhi. Jaso and Nagaud police stations immediately reached Rajbhan Singh’s village and raided his house. Police rescued the bus driver and took some of the accused, including the car owner, into custody for questioning. Throughout this entire incident, passengers stranded in a deserted location had to wait for a long time for help. Police released the driver at the scene, after which the bus departed for Surat with the passengers.
