India, South Africa all set for 2nd T20I today:PCA Mullanpur stadium to host 1st international game; stand to be named after Yuvraj-Harmanpreet

The second T-20 match between India and South Africa will be played today, Thursday, under tight security at the Maharaj Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium located in New Chandigarh. For this, the teams had already reached the stadium yesterday, Wednesday. This is the first international match for a men’s cricket team at the stadium. Meanwhile, during this event, the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) is going to give special honours to its two star cricketers. Two stands will be dedicated to Yuvraj Singh, hero of the 2011 World Cup, and Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of the 2025 Women’s World Cup. Two stands will be named after them. A PCA spokesperson said that both players have brought honor to the country and have been the pride of Punjab. Yuvraj Singh and Harmanpreet Kaur will also be present on this occasion. For the first time, cricket stadium stand to be named after woman in Punjab For the first time in Punjab, a stand will be named after a woman cricketer. Harmanpreet Kaur will be the second cricketer in the country to receive this honour. During the 2025 Women’s World Cup, a stand was named after former Indian captain Mithali Raj at the ACA-VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam. Harmanpreet is the first woman cricketer to achieve this feat in North India. The Punjab Cricket Association had named a terrace at the IS Bindra Stadium after Yuvraj Singh in 2022. In the felicitation ceremony held on 20 September, the North Pavilion was named after Yuvraj Singh and the South Pavilion after Harbhajan Singh. The new stadium already had a Harbhajan Singh Stand, and now Yuvraj Singh’s name is also being included. A stand has also been named after him, which will be unveiled on 11 December.
