A five-year-old girl in Gwalior witnessed her father cut off her mother’s nose with scissors. The incident occurred during a domestic fight on Saturday in Maharajpura. The mother, Poonam, has been admitted to JAH’s Trauma Center for treatment. Her young daughter, Anushka, is an eyewitness and revealed details of the attack to reporters. Child witness describes father’s cruelty Anushka, just five years old, said her father often comes home drunk and beats her mother. “This is not a one-day story,” she said. “He hits Mummy unnecessarily. I hide when he comes so he does not hurt me like he hurts her.” The child added that her father shows no love. “He doesn’t love me or my sister,” she said. “Mummy loves me, but Grandma loves only my sister. Whenever Papa drinks, he hits Mummy.” Attack during domestic dispute The violent incident happened near Bharat Market in Maharajpura. Dharmendra Tomar, intoxicated, dragged Poonam inside their home by her hair. He pressed his foot on her neck and cut her nose with scissors. After the attack, he fled the scene, leaving her injured. Anushka ran to her aunt who lived nearby. The aunt immediately took Poonam to the hospital for urgent treatment. Police action Maharajpura police registered a case against Dharmendra Tomar on the complaint of Poonam. Police are actively searching for the accused. Poonam is under medical care and stable, but the attack has left the family in shock. Family trauma The attack has deeply affected the young girl. She described her father’s violent behaviour and her fear of being hurt. Neighbours and relatives expressed concern over the repeated domestic violence incidents in the household.
