asi-action-sparks-tension-at-bhojshala:new-oil-painting-seized-during-ritual-day,-prompting-strong-reaction-and-fresh-mobilisation-by-the-hindu-community

A Satyagraha took place on Tuesday at the historic Bhojshala in Dhar, but this time it happened without an oil painting. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) stopped a new oil painting that the Hindu community was bringing, and this created tension. For years, people have performed worship and Satyagraha in Bhojshala using oil paintings of Maa Vagdevi and Bajrangbali. The Hindu community says the old painting had become very old, so they brought a new one for worship. But the administration seized it. After this, people raised slogans against the authorities and demanded that the new oil painting be returned. ASI officials stopped the people
On Tuesday, when the Hindu society was taking a new oil painting inside Bhojshala, ASI officials stopped them and took possession of the painting. After this incident, for the first time, the Hindu society performed worship and satyagraha inside the temple without any oil painting. The Bhoj Utsav Committee has objected to this action by the ASI. The committee, calling it an “insult to Hindu society,” demanded that the ASI return the oil painting by evening. The committee also stated that for years, the Tuesday Satyagraha has been held in the presence of the oil painting, but this tradition could not be fulfilled this time. No official statement has been issued by ASI officials in this matter. Currently, the seized oil painting is still with the ASI. Meanwhile, people from the Hindu community have demanded its immediate return.
