child-goes-missing,-mother-father-suspect-each-other:police-conduct-loyalty-test,-take-parents’-oath;-both-denies-having-kid’s-custody

Ritesh Pal, a three-year-old from Mohanpur village in Gwalior, has been missing for 32 days. His parents are blaming each other for his disappearance. On Tuesday, a loyalty test was held for both families. A panchayat took place in front of Girgaon Wale Mahadev (Magistrate Mahadev), where arbitrators made both families take an oath. Both families said they had no information about the child. It is believed that those who take a false oath in front of Mahadev suffer harm. Harm includes a loss of more than 50 thousand rupees, the death of a family member, or the death of an animal. The arbitrators, while pronouncing their decision, gave both parties a deadline of 5 days. This means the truth will be known by 6 PM on December 6. If neither family suffers any kind of harm, they will be acquitted from the case. Even after a month of investigation into the case, the police are still where they started. More than 500 personnel and officers were deployed in the forest, drone searching was conducted, relatives were interrogated, but their hands are empty. Now the police are looking at this case from a religious angle. The court was also held on November 24
On November 24, Murar police also took both families to Magistrate Mahadev’s court. A case was registered before Mahadev, but both parties made excuses and did not take the oath (kasam). After this, Magistrate Mahadev’s court was held on December 2. Police entangled between both families
Police conducted searching in the forests, CDR and surveillance, interrogated relatives, and strictly questioned the mother, father, and other members. But no clue was found. Police strongly suspect that the child is hidden between both families or their close associates. Both families are religious in nature, which is why the police have now adopted the angle of emotional pressure. Relatives suspected of child’s disappearance
Police suspect the child’s mother Sapna Pal, maternal aunt Jyoti Pal, and some other relatives. Sapna and Jyoti say, “We ourselves are victims; the child has not been found for 32 days. Police are picking up relatives, and female officers threaten us, asking where the child is hidden.” Parents live separately
Sapna Pal was married to Dalveer Singh. Due to a dispute, Sapna had been living at her maternal home in Mohanpur for 6 months. The elder son is with the father, and the younger son Ritesh was with the mother. On November 1st, in the afternoon, Ritesh was playing in the courtyard of the house. Half an hour later, Sapna saw that her son was missing. After searching, she reached Murar police station in the evening and filed a report. Police said – Contradiction in statements of both parties
SSP Dharamveer Singh said, the case is being investigated from several angles. There is a contradiction in the statements of both parties, which is why they are under suspicion. Under Operation Muskaan, we have reunited many children, and this case will also be solved soon.
