The mastermind behind the robbery of more than 2 crores from Ayushi Jewelers in Mandla, has been arrested from Bihar. Late Thursday night, Madhya Pradesh Police conducted a joint raid with Muzaffarpur Police and arrested three criminals including the mastermind from Sadar, Baruraj and Paru police station areas. The arrested accused include mastermind Mohammad Khalid, resident of Rampurwa Akhada in Baruraj police station area, Shashi Kumar from ward 31 of Atardah in Sadar police station area, and Krishna Kumar Singh from Gyaspur of Paru police station. Police also seized Khalid’s car used in the incident. On Friday, SI Shafiq Khan of Kotwali Mandla police station filed an application in court to take the three accused on 48-hour transit remand. Police have also seized their mobile phones. Police are continuously conducting raids to recover the stolen gold and silver jewelry. Got clue from CCTV footage After the incident, police identified two cars of the criminals. Along with dumping mobile towers, CCTV footage from several toll plazas was examined in the direction of criminals’ escape. Both cars were identified and the car owners were traced, which led police directly to mastermind Khalid. After his arrest, police got information about Shashi and Krishna. 55-year-old Khalid had planned the entire conspiracy. He had involved criminals not only from Bihar but also from Madhya Pradesh. During interrogation, he revealed names and addresses of several associates, on whom five special teams are continuously conducting raids. Krishna Kumar Singh said that he is a resident of Gyaspur (Paru) and works as a laborer. He met Khalid, who told him about a jeweler’s shop in Mandla that keeps two to two and a half kilos of gold, which they planned to rob. It was described as a big job that would set them up for life. On November 17, Khalid went with Shashi and Krishna in his car via Katni to Jabalpur and Indore and then reached Mandla. There they made contact with local criminals Pankaj Thakur, Lavkush, Shani, Azhar and others. Krishna admitted that during the incident, when Ayush resisted, he was the one who fired the shot. The incident occurred on November 20, businessman was shot upon resistance. The incident took place between 7:15 and 7:30 in the evening of November 20. After this, one criminal entered the shop and asked Ayush to take out all the gold and silver kept in the shop. He started looting the gold and silver jewelry, which Ayush protested.
