A property dealer in Mandsaur died by suicide by jumping in front of a train, allegedly due to harassment by BJP leader Amjad Pathan. Following the incident, members of several Hindu organisations staged a protest at Suwasara Chowpatty on Saturday, blocking the road with the body and raising slogans against the administration. Protesters claimed that Amjad had illegally built a house and bungalow on government land. Acting on their demand, the administration demolished Pathan’s house using a bulldozer. Suicide note found, accusations of ₹54 lakh fraud Property dealer Manish Vyas died by suicide on Friday. A suicide note recovered from the site accused Amjad Pathan of siphoning off Rs 54 lakh. In the note, Manish stated that he was fed up with Pathan’s exploitation. The incident triggered widespread anger in the region. Protest standoff: Demands for compensation and party expulsion The deadlock persisted between the administration and protesters. Local MLA Hardeep Singh Dang joined the protest near a petrol pump, accusing the administration of delaying action. Following this, authorities deployed a JCB machine and began demolishing Pathan’s illegal house on Chomela Road. Suwasara Tehsildar Ramlal Munia was present at the site. Protesters demanded that the government ensure payment of Rs 54 lakh to Manish’s family and that Amjad Pathan be expelled from the BJP. Family alleges illegal wealth accumulated by accused District Janpad Parishad representative Vijay Patidar said that Amjad Pathan had amassed considerable illegal property. “His assets should be seized, and justice should be given to all those he has exploited, just as Manish’s family is demanding the return of ₹54 lakh,” he said at the protest site. Manish’s son Bhuleshwar, nephew Deepak, and father Bansilal Vyas stated that their monetary dealings with Amjad and his family had been ongoing for two years. Amjad allegedly took money promising to arrange farmland. The family said they were unaware of the exact details of how the money was transferred. They also claimed that Amjad collected money from several people and later relocated to Mandsaur. Three main demands: Demolitions, compensation, and action against accused Protesters have insisted on three primary demands: • Demolition of all three accused persons’ houses • Payment of Rs 54 lakh to Manish’s family • Strict action against Amjad Pathan The crowd at the protest site continues to grow, creating tension in Suwasara and nearby rural areas. A complete traffic shutdown occurred due to the road blockade. Administration on alert as tension rises Police are attempting to control the situation, but the anger among locals remains high. Sitamau SDOP Dinesh Prajapati reached the spot to pacify the crowd, but protesters remained firm on their demands. For security reasons, police have closed the Suwasara entry point.
