The BJP has still not announced the Indore Rural executive committee, even 15 days after finalising the Indore City team. The delay is caused by a power struggle among key leaders, disagreements over supporters’ names, and lobbying for posts such as General Secretary. Several MLAs and senior leaders are pushing for their own people, which has stalled the list. Delay in announcement The Indore Rural executive list was expected on 4 November. However, names from some MLAs did not reach the BJP office in time.Sources say the list is stuck due to conflicts among three groups. BJP District President Shravan Singh Chavda says the team will be announced before 20 November. He said he could not finalise the list earlier because of illness and the Bihar elections.According to him, the list will be completed within the next two to three days. Where the list is stuck 1. Clash in Mhow over office bearers In Mhow, MLA Usha Thakur and Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya want their own supporters in the committee.Sources say Vijayvargiya is pressuring for his people.Thakur argues that those who worked against her during the election should not be made office bearers. She wants her loyal workers to be included. 2. No names from Depalpur MLA Manoj Patel MLA Manoj Patel has not submitted the names of his supporters. It is said that Patel and President Chavda do not get along. Both belong to the Depalpur constituency.Patel does not want others increasing their influence in his area.Chavda, on the other hand, wants his own people included to strengthen his position. 3. Competition for general secretary posts The list is also stuck over the General Secretary posts.Sources say Manoj Patel, Shravan Singh Chavda, Usha Thakur, Kailash Vijayvargiya, and Tulsiram Silawat want these posts for their own supporters. From Rau Rural, Madhu Verma and Jitu Jirati are also lobbying for their people. Why is the list delayed Rivalry ebtween MLA Patel and President Chavda According to party sources, the main reason for the delay is the clash between Patel and Chavda.Patel has not submitted his list because of this conflict. Their rivalry became public in recent weeks. Both leaders organised separate tractor rallies for the Bhavantar Yojana.Chavda held his rally on 7 October.Patel held another one on 13 October.Minister Vijayvargiya attended Chavda’s rally. The Chief Minister joined Patel’s rally virtually. Tension between Usha Thakur and Kailash Vijayvargiya Two-time MLA Usha Thakur wants as many of her supporters as possible in Team Chavda. But Vijayvargiya’s supporters are blocking her picks.Vijayvargiya wants to place Manoj Patel as General Secretary. He also wants to include Ashok Somani, Ramkaran Bhabhar, and Radheshyam Yadav as Vice Presidents or Ministers. Thakur opposes these names. She says these leaders were issued show-cause notices for working against the party candidate during the Mhow assembly election. She believes they should not be included. Dispute between Jitu Jirati and Madhu Verma The list is also stuck because of demands from Rau Rural.Jitu Jirati wants his supporters included, as they did not get positions in the city list.Madhu Verma wants one or two of his people added as well. Sources say Jirati wants his supporter Chaudhary to be made General Secretary.Verma opposes this.He wants Dharmendra Jat and Ramswaroop Gehlot included.Another leader, Ravi Rawaliya, wants to place Ghanshyam Patidar in the committee. Past issues for Manoj Patel In 2021, the executive committee was announced 20 months after Rajesh Sonkar became President.Even then, Manoj Patel managed to secure only three positions for his supporters. He did not get even one General Secretary post. In contrast, Usha Thakur succeeded in placing four supporters.Minister Tulsiram Silawat secured positions for six of his people.Despite pressure, Vijayvargiya managed to include only one supporter, Chintu Verma. Silawat’s supporters face no objection Tulsiram Silawat’s supporters are being easily adjusted this time as well. There is no resistance to including his people in either the urban or rural lists. Previous executive committee strength The last executive committee had 31 members. It included 12 Vice Presidents, 3 General Secretaries, 10 Secretaries, and other office bearers.
